A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to nonexistent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling error. The negative aspect of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk email messages, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you’ve got a hosting with our company and you wish to activate the catch-all option for a specific mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it will take literally just a click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in the account. You can choose one single email address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button again will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature until you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
